Middle School: BIA Bilingual International Academy

The middle school program will prepare students for the rigor of high school in both English and Mandarin. Students will be well prepared for any kind of high school experience.

Courses:

1. English Language & Literature

• Reading comprehension

• Creative and academic writing

• Literary analysis

• Vocabulary and grammar development

• Speaking and listening skills

2. Mathematics

• Number sense and operations

• Algebra and pre-algebra

• Geometry

• Data analysis and probability

• Problem solving and reasoning

3. Science

• Integrated Science (Grades 6–7 often combine biology, chemistry, and physics)

• Subject-specific by Grade 8 or 9:

  • Life Science (Biology)

  • Physical Science (Physics & Chemistry)

  • Earth & Space Science

Emphasis on inquiry-based learning, lab skills, and the scientific method.

4. Social Studies / Humanities

• World Geography

• Ancient Civilizations

• Modern History / Global Studies

• Civics and Government

• Cultural Studies

Focus on developing global awareness and critical thinking.
